2007 Faculty Award Recipients and Recognition
Congratulations to Kevin Gordon from
Prof. Robert Minto's Research Group! Kevin
presented a poster entitled
"Isotopic Labeling of Acetylenic Fatty Acids for Mechanistic
Studies of Desaturases" at the 7th Annual Kentuckiana Undergraduate Research Symposium
in Louisville, KY. His presentation was recognized with a 3rd place award and a cash
prize.

senior with the highest academic achievement in the B.A. Program.
Michael Akers & Judith Smith - The Loren T. Jones Award: Presented to the graduating
senior with the highest academic achievement in the B.S. Program.
Eric Hunt - The Loren T. Jones Memorial Scholarship Award: Presented
to a continuing undergraduate research student as a summer research stipend.
Chris Audu & Eric Woerly - The Frank J. Welcher Award: Presented to the graduating
senior with the most outstanding professional promise.
Eric Hunt - The Outstanding Undergraduate Analytical Chemistry Student
Award: Presentd to the outstanding undergraduate student in analytical
chemistry as determined by the analytical chemistry faculty.

the outstanding student in the freshmen chemistry course.

32nd Annual School of Science Honors Convocation Awards for the 2005-2006 School Year
Diversity Scholars Research Scholarship: The DSRP scholarship
provides full tuition and fees, a stipend and a research component that is designed
to acclimate students to research activities.

Women in Science Scholarship: Women in Science Scholarships are awarded by
the School of Science to undergraduate students in the new Women in Science Program.
These students live toegther in Women in Science house, a residential learning
community in the IPUI campus apartments, and participate in scientific and
career-building events throught the academic year. The scholarships are awarded on
the basis of academic merit, intended science major, career goals and pror
science-related activities.

Kellen A. Knowles - CRC Freshamn Chemistry Achievement Award: Presented to
the outstanding student in the freshmen chemistry course.

Jessica R. Mann - National Student - Athlete Day Award
Professor Jay A. Siegel, Ph.D. received the Paul Kirk Award from the American
Academy of Forensic Sciences in February of 2005. This is the highest award given by
the Criminalistics section of the Academy. Because of this award Siegel also received
the PEAR (Prestigious External Award Recognition) this year and the opportunity to
participate in the April 2005 Chancellor's Academic Honors Convocation held in the
Indiana University Conference Center main auditorium.
