A 1300-page volume on the “Theory and Applications of Computational Chemistry—The First 40 Years” has just appeared in print with Clifford Dykstra of our department as one of the four editors of this major work. The 42 chapters in this book, from 80+ authors, chronicle the developments that have made computational investigation an important branch of chemistry. The chapters also provide some up to date reviews of current techniques and approaches. The book was published by Elsevier (ISBN 0-444-51719-7) and the other editors are Gernot Frenking (Phillips-Universität Marburg, Germany), Kwang S. Kim (Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea) and Gustavo E. Scuseria (Rice University, Texas).
