C&CB Faculty Report First Crystal Structure of DNA-Bound Bleomycin
C&CB Faculty members Millie M. Georgiadis and Eric C. Long, along with first-author Kristie D. Goodwin, a Postdoctoral Fellow supported by the American Cancer Society, and C&CB PhD student Mark A. Lewis, have reported the first DNA-bound crystal structures of bleomycin, a clincally-employed anti-tumor agent that has been studied intensely for more than 40 years. This work, which details a much sought-after structure in the field of DNA-targeted drugs, is reported in the March 24th issue of the online Early Edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. For more information and a structure, click HERE. To read an abstract of this work click HERE.
